Rotating Tower

Hi!!!

Its been a long time since the last post but here we go again...
this post its about the amazing tower projected in Dubai and in Moscow...
as an student of architecture i think that this wind shaped building it will be huge effort for engineers and architects, and i don't know if this building it will worth it, what am trying to say it is try to imagine all the money it will cost this building, all the resources it will be wasted only for give an image of power and greatness... its like since less than 10 years ago, Dubai has become a competition with them selves for "who has the greater and bigger building" and in some way this its pissing me off.
anyway the task was not about the Dubai society, it was about the building, now i can talk about it.

The building for me its so impressive, the shape it will give the wind movement it just great, its so natural and fluid, as a development for future architecture i think it will be great, many good things will come out from this huge effort. somehow the building in self it will be a huge sculpture for the city, some kind of me sculpture made by the wind... i was checking also the plans in the net and even if the shape its not most regular way to create a flat, they could put all the pieces very nicely and for sure it will work as it was think.

for more information go to this link.. www.dynamicarchitecture.com, and see more projects from this architect.

Cheers my friends

and see you soon

BRAVE NEW WORLD

Hi!
i sincerely think that i haven't read enought in my life, so between the few ones books i read i will make a choose.
the most amazing book i have read i think that its "brave new world" (1938), wrotten by Aldous Huxley.
Its an amazing tale of how can be the future of the humanity in X more years, with bio-development and social handling... a very scary but probable future for the human kind...
The great of this book are that many things written on it, are happening now, and if you think, the man who wrote this book was born in 1890 or something, so he was veeeeery clever! in fact he was a bioligist and he mixed all the concepts from the biology and literature and he made his most popular book.
there are some people whoe really study this book, cose there are maaaaaaany things that are happenign and probably will keep on happen, cose trust me, he was a visionary or something... jajajaj, probably just very clever....

see you soon

Antonio Gaudí

Antonio Gaudí was born in Catalunya, Spain... he was a visionary of what could be modern architecture in 1900 or even less. his buildings were full of nature shapes, he always was searching in the nature new ways to build his buildings.

When you see his works, you can see clearly all the biological and phisical researchs that he have done for do a small piece of something.

His most spectacular invent was the catenary arch, its an arch that he research putting some chains up side down an see how they work with some pounds on it.

its so nice when you see in a mirror under the instalation, how the shape of the building its taken form.

In his studio there are some examples of how hi made it to build "La Sagrada Familia" in Barcelona... a hugh building that never ends! jajaja, he started 100 years ago and still remains something like 60 years...

there are many other buildings made it by his hand (literally) like Batlló house, Mila house (La Pedrera) or the Park Güell... all this buildings are in Barcelona.

On his last days hi past enclosed on a very little room trying to finish "La Sagrada Familia" but he never end it, becose hi died when he were walking to see how it was going the cosntruction of it. he died by a tram.

here i will post some pictures of "La Sagrada Familia"

Cheers!!!

GREATER LONDON AUTHORITY

This building its located at the Thames riverside, made by the famous architect Sir Norman Foster, as many projects near to the Greater London Authority. i very like this building, cose even if its a very hughe building, when you stay inside of it, you feel it very close, i dont know if i can make ti clear... but probably some one will understand. ajajaja

its a 10 floor building whit a very great central space, this it calls London´s living room, and its kind of a exibition room....that its goes from the bottom to the top.

another great part of this building its the square next to him... its a beautifull place to stay on it,where you can see all of this building and the places near to it, like the Thames Tower Bridge, or to enjoy the beautty Thames river side.

also in this building the skins that cover it, have many function, like reduce the radation and win some heat, as you see its has been worked in a sustentable way.

cheers!!!

BBC

when i read about surf in that page, i seriulsy said... for what! jajaja, but then when i started to get into it, i listened 2 of the options... and it was very nice, i feel that it was not for nothing.
i listened "better speaking" and it was very nice... it was of how good its to can express clearly your ideas, no matter if you are not right using the right gramma or vocabulary.
the put a record of the famous tennis player Steffi Graf who is from Germany so the english is not her native lenguage, and they examine the way she talk and her mistakes... i think that its a very good way to learn by your own english...
after that i had listen some news from britain, it was a new of the beefs... jajaja... some trade that they made with North Korea, and the meat was in the middle of this... the were talking about how expencive were the meat before the trade and how it will be after that ( of course much cheaper that now)

and that its....

i think that its a very good choice to learn english from this page

Cheers!!!

get your own images!

The site its call http://www.gettyimages.com/, its a very nice place where you can get beautty images for free, for example... you put on the search engine "Central park" and the page will ask you if the search that it will be done its right, then all the images will apear on the screen, the page have only one problem... if you download the image, the logo will appear on the picture, so you have to work it on photoshop to erase it.
i usually go into the page, becose you always need good pictures for the tasks of the university and i really like it!. when i was in second year i discover it, then whit the pictures all the task made it much easier... jajaja.
another great page it was http://www.pandora.com/... it was kind of a radio where you can listen your favorites music bands, and the similar bands that probably you will like, this dream ends becose the USA laws... copyrigth and that stuffs, i think that teh page still exist but now you can't use it, its only for americans.
